IMPACT OF IODINE DEFICIENCY ON TREATMENT EFFICACY IN PATIENTS, SUFFERING POSTTRAUMATIC OSTEOMYELITIS, USING THE PUNCTURE LASER SEQUESTROTRIPSY

Abstract

The results of treatment of 74 patients, suffering posttraumatic osteomyelitis of the lower extremities, in 28 of whom the iodine deficiency was revealed, were analyzed. Prolonged regional intraarterial infusion, highly intensive laser irradiation and the iodine preparations in a 200 mcg daily dose were used. High efficacy of the procedure proposed was proved, was have permitted to omit performance of debilitating operations in majority of patients, to preserve the lower extremities main functions. In the patients, suffering iodine deficiency, application of the iodine preparations have promoted the treatment results improvement.
