Abstract

Objective. Determination of the ascitic liquid reinfusion efficacy as a component of treatment in patients, suffering hepatic cirrhosis (HC) with formatted edematous syndrome.

Маterials and methods. There were treated 262 patients, suffering HC. The case histories of 48 patients with HC, complicated by ascites, were analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups. Group I consisted of 21 (43.8%) patients, to whom the abdominal puncture was performed with further preoperative treatment of HC. Group II consisted of 27 (56.3%) patients with HC and ascites, to whom after abdominal puncture the ascitic liquid was cleaned and reinfused.

Results. Of 21 patients of the Group I while three-year observation a good result was registered in 3 (14.3%), satisfactory - in 4 (19.0%), poor – in 2 (9.5%). Seven (33.3%) patients died. Of 27 patients of the Group II good result was registered in 12 (44.4%), satisfactory - in 7 (25.9%), poor – in 3 (11.1%). In total 3 (11.1%) patients died.

Conclusion. Reinfusion of cleared ascetic liquid, restoring dynamics of laboratory indices in patients and improving the disease course, serves an effective method of treatment in patients, suffering HC and formatted ascitis.
