RESULTS OF DELORME PROCEDURE FOR RECTAL PROLAPSE
Results of Delorme operation, performed for rectal prolapse in 32 patients, were analyzed. After examination of patients, using dynamical roentgenological irrigography, transrectal ultrasound investigation, roentgenological and/or magnet-resonance defecography, colonoscopy with video-documenting, аnorectal manometry and sphincterometry, the operation was performed under general anesthesia. There was established, that rectal prolapse and its recurrences were caused mainly by chronic constipation, соncurrent diseases of the gut, liver, biliary system, pancreas, including diabetes mellitus and obesity, sedentary lifestyle; the disease recurrence rate have had depended upon the anesthesia type, the operation method and quality of its performance. Application of perineal tactics in accordance to Delorme have had promoted reduction of the operation and stationary stay duration, as well as postoperative morbidity rate. This operative intervention may be used as a procedure of first choice for surgical treatment of rectal prolapse.
