RESULTS OF SURGICAL TREATMENT IN PATIENTS, SUFFERING INTERVERTEBRAL DISC HERNIA, USING LUMBAR MICRODISCECTOMY, USING INTEROSTIAL STABILIZATION
Abstract
Results of treatment of 16 patients, suffering hernia of intervertebral disc (IVD), using lumbar microdiscectomy in combination with establishment of the DIAM system of interostial dynamic fixation in Department of Miniinvasive and Laser Spinal Neurosurgery in 2009-2012 yrs, were analyzed. Biomechanical interrelationship of structures of the affected vertebro-motor segment was determined, basing on complex roentgenomanometric analysis. The patients’ quality of life was estimated in accordance to Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). While the DIAM system installation the possibility of the IVD hernia recurrence have had diminished. Application of such surgical technology in treatment of the lumbar IVD hernia permits to prevent occurrence of stenosis and segmental instability on the operated vertebro-motor segment level.
